About the Program

This ONLINE workshop will help screen media storytellers think and strategize like entrepreneurs. It will shift perceptions and help you learn the power of the “audience first” mindset that is part of so many digital indie success stories. Storypreneurs Unite!
Over 11 weeks participants will be given the structure and guidance to create a digital marketing and business plan for a specific project. The course combines eight modules of online curriculum delivery and group learning in a small cohort, with applied exercises that will either introduce and reinforce digital concepts and skills (beginner) or move you through the development of the elements you need for your plan (advanced). These will be interspersed with three one-on-one coaching sessions to give you individualized support and feedback.
Alumni of the Becoming a Storypreneur program will also have the opportunity in the future to join an ongoing online community of likeminded grads who will get exclusive access to up-to-date resources and a place to exchange information and real world lessons in what has worked and (even more importantly) what has not.
Now taking applications for the Winter 2017 Cohort!
The core curriculum will be delivered weekly over eight modules with one final wrap up session (and a bonus pre-recorded webinar for advanced participants). Each module will begin with a group meeting (via online video or phone conferencing) in which the instructor will provide a context and specific information for that week’s topic to kick off the module. Supplemental perspective will be provided for some modules by pre-recorded special guests. Then the instructor will walk you through that module’s exercise. The small group allows for full interactivity, with questions being asked and answered as they arise and a group discussion at the end.
After most sessions you will have one week to complete that week’s assignment (either beginner or advanced) and further develop your digital skills and/or marketing plan. You will be expected to submit your completed work to the instructor by the beginning of the next group meeting session and she will review and send feedback. Each module will wrap up the previous one and introduce the next. Each of the eight modules builds upon the others and helps to move you to a completed digital marketing strategy document which will help to build the business case and audience for your screen media project.
Throughout the course you will have access to the instructor and the rest of your Storypreneur cohort through a closed online forum and via email. There will also be three one-on-one coaching sessions provided, two during the program and after the final class to help support the development of your digital plan.
